Today, if things had been different, I would be getting out three new sets of math curriculum for our homeschool year instead of two.
Eight years ago today, if things had been different, I would have been planning our trip to the hospital to give birth to a healthy baby girl, not weeping over what would have been if she hadn't died in March.
And so today is both hard and holy, acknowledging both the ache of missing her and the blessing of having her and the confidence that God is good, always, no matter what, and the amazement at what He has used her life for in the last eight years.
But still, today I am taking a minute to say...
I love you, Naomi Faith.
And I sure wish things had been different
eight years ago.
