Every woman's dilemma
For years (yes, years), I wore my hair the same way every day. One long braid down the back. My hair was long - something I had wanted for ages, so I wasn't about to cut it - but it is also baby fine, so when it is long, the length weighs it down and it is just flat. I'd tried perms in the past (can you say poodle??) and they didn't give me the look I really wanted. I tried wearing it long and loose and, well, it got into everything and ended up a tangled mess by the end of the day. A long braid worked. It was boring, but at least it was neat and out of my face, and I could do it in a couple of minutes.

But as time went on, "boring" was getting to me. What's more, even a long braid would get in my way for certain activities. I would try pinning it up, but nothing would hold it except a plastic claw, and that gave me a headache and looked, well, plastic-y. I would try tons of bobby pins, but it took tons, and usually fell down in a couple of hours at the most. Glamorous and easy, it wasn't. I had been married over ten years, had two children, and felt like a dumpy housewife. And since I was happy with my fashion choices, what it came down to was my hair.
Around this time, I had begun reading a couple of websites where I saw these hair accessories advertised called Flexi Clips. One clip would hold a twist or a bun in a beautiful updo AND the clips were not plastic doo-dads. They were beaded and gorgeous. I was intrigued, but I am also a skeptic, especially when it comes to "too good to be true" online sales. So I held off, until I saw a special deal of free shipping for those interested in becoming a consultant for the company, Lilla Rose. I was doubly-intrigued. I was still skeptical - but realized that for the price I was paying, I had nothing to lose, and even reading the fine print didn't reveal anything scary. I signed up and waited for my first clips to arrive, a little sheepish that I had signed up to SELL something that I had never WORN!
The day arrived and my "party" and "fast start" kit arrived - yes, I signed up for additional inventory - I (okay, it was actually my husband) was THAT convinced that I could make a go of this business! As soon as I tried them on, I knew I had made a good choice! They were SO beautiful, but also SO comfortable! The clips come in seven sizes, so there is truly a size for just about anyone. I found myself trying out different sizes, different styles. I was having FUN styling my hair! And I wasn't just using them for updos, but for ponytails, half-ups, and all other kinds of styles, too!
I could not have been more thrilled! At the risk of sounding over the top, I have not had a "bad hair day" since. Honest! And while hair is not everything, having my hair in place, held by a secure, comfortable, and beautiful clip, helps me to feel a bit more confident as I go throughout my day, even if a lot of that day is spent with my children!
